Workshop Elevator Pitch augustus

There are no translations available.

How to create an Elevator Pitch

Hi, I'm Henk from Henk Reports | text & image. I write texts in Dutch and English that you can use to get your desired goal. It can be journalistic articles for newspapers and magazines, but I also write texts for companies that like to publish brochures, newsletters or press releases. So what are your goals?

It's your one minute of fame. Many people don't succes to introduce themselves cleary in such short time. That's too bad, because the first impression is the most important one. Especially for entrepreneurs and job applicants. If they lose interest of the other person, they also might lose that assignment, customer or job.

That's why you need to start thinking about your Elevator Pitch, a text that introduces you powerful with others and makes them curious about you. In the Elevator Pitch you answer the following questions:

Who am I, what do i do and for whom?
What value or benefit do I produce for my client?
What need does my product solve?

Summarize the answers and work on how to bring the message. Writing an Elevator Pitch is not easy, but also not impossible. Provoke a little bit. Be catchy and passionate about yourself and your company. Also end with a line that invites the other person to ask questions. This way you get to tell more details about what you do. Recently I heard the following quotes which I write now to inspire you:

'I don't hire a laywer, I hire a bigger chance to freedom.'
‘I don't buy shampoo, I buy shiny hair.’

Instead of the means they mention the goal. You can apply this as well, but be careful with how and what you say. Keep it real. No business person likes fairytales. Also make sure that you can pronounce your Elevator Pitch in a natural way. Try out what works for you and test it. If people don't get it or they ask to clarify what you mean, you need to change your text.

And above all, dare... Dare to be creative with your Elevator Pitch. Dare to be original, because that's when you get noticed and go up with the elevator.

Oneliners from Dutch politicians

Only one day left for Dutch people to decide what to vote for. On June 9 they will elect the members of parliament for the next four years. Political debates are fierce and Dutch politicians throw - as usual - lots of oneliners around. A compilation made by the Dutch comedy show: Koefnoen:

Introduction
evenvoorstellenOne of the first articles I wrote started from some information that people preferred to keep to themselves. My informant wanted to remain anonymous, so I could not publish the story. But armed with this little hint in the right direction the hunt for the news had started. Lees verder
